Read more: Sometimes the robber gets wet feet -- Oct 17A woody Chärnwaldräuber (Kern forest robber) figure sits comfortably on the idyllic moorland Gerzensee enjoying the view and the biodiversity of the flora and fauna. He seems to be basking in the absolute tranquility, which is almost meditative. Sometimes, the water level of this small forest lake is so high that the robber can bathe his feet in the water.

My friend Maya has invited me on a walk through Kernwald. She grew up just a couple of kms from here.

Kernwald (Or Kern forest) forms the border between the cantons of Nidwalden and Obwalden. We start walking on the trail at Chabisstein. Mira (Maya's 3 year old daughter) is happy to skip around. Every moss covered stone, colorful plant and tree species is a miracle to her..

Read more: Counting our Blessings -- Oct 01' 2017It's ~3PM as we arrive @ Unterrüti on this sunny Saturday afternoon. We start going through different rooms as usual, taking care of what needs to be done, prepared for the workers to continue their work et al... Lukas hears something in the NebenStube. And suddenly he sees it, a tiny little yellow breasted bird, sitting in one corner, shivering from fear. Lukas gently takes it in his fingers. It continues to shiver, all afraid of what fate has in store for it. Lukas holds it gently in Silence... giving it love ..

The tiny bird stays in his hand for ~10 Minutes, then Poops on Lukas's hand before flying away..

THANK YOU li'l Birdie for your Blessing!!

We've been working all morning at the House Suddenly Lukas says.. Let's take a break and get out of here. Sounds good!! Well.. we all know, what "All Work and No Play" can make out of us...

Spontaneously we start our walk from the oh-so-peaceful Tannwald and continue walking by green Pastures, happily grazing cows, their bells reverberating through the pastures and mountainsides. After about 4 km, the path ends and through the forest we continue to walk down the rocky terrain, till we reach the picturesque village of Bauen inhabited by ~ 200 villagers.

There's still time for the boat, so we sit on the terrace of the historic Zwyssighaus. With a view of the lake, we rest and indulge in our ice creams, till the sound of the Horn announces the Ship. A half hour on the boat and we're in Treib. We're too lazy to walk back up, so we take the funicular railway upto Seelisberg Bahnhof and then walk the rest of the way to the car..

And I say to myself.. Oh what a wonderful Day...cool

It's golden rays panning out from behind the gray cloud cover.. spreading gold on the Sky and dyeing Lake Lucerne into a beautiful orange-pink hue..

From Drained and Tired to a Peaceful and Serene ME.. all in one Moment. Amazing the uplifting power of a Sunset!!!
