Where others come for vacation...
where others come for vacation ...

After my morning run, I'm sitting outside basking in the glorious Sun, sipping on the fruit smoothie with my eco-friendly-lovage-straw. Mhmmm.. i love the strongly aromatic - almost celery like taste that the "Lovage Straw" adds to my smoothie.

Just a month ago, the peculiar red shoots of this perennial herb were just poking out of the ground. Now, in June, the plant is already a couple of feet high, and I’m thrilled. I've already been using lovage leaves in soups, stews and salads as garnish. The plant was really getting too high for our little herb bed, so this morning I also made pesto from the leaves (Just fresh leaves, sea-salt and extra-virgin olive oil and the convenience of a blender!). The lovely dark green aromatic pesto can be used on sandwiches, pasta, pizza, soups, stews.. anywhere you need a touch of green as a garnish!! And you can make some really eco-friendly straws from the leftover hollowed out stems..

Here's to being Green.. innocent

Two Dark Furry Cats

She - Sweet as can be

He - with long and tousled hair

Hangs out under her window..

At first looking away,

then pleading her to come on a Date,

but Nellie doesn't seem to sway..

Poor Wuschel -- what can he do but wait, Wait and WAIT!!
