The Corona cases have been climbing during the last week.

The Federal Office of Public Health has launched the Protect yourself and others campaign: Wash your hands thoroughly. Sneeze into the crook of your arm. Stay at home if you display flu-like symptoms. Keep your distance.

The Federal Council categorises the situation in Switzerland as ‘special’ in terms of the Epidemics Act (EpidA). Events with more than 1,000 people are now banned.

The Swiss sporting world has started to shut down. Some of the most sacred events in the Swiss cultural calendar are either postponed or cancelled altogether. These include the annual carnival festivities in Basel, Berne, Lucerne and other cities, the Geneva International Motor Show, the Baselworld watch and jewellery show et al.

Panic is starting to grip the citizens as they aren't sure what to do to protect themselves. Due to still unclear directives coming from the Government to disperse the panic and try to combat and contain the virus, i write a letter to the Minister of Home Affairs "Alain Berset" on my views to contain the pandemic...

What we here in the West were viewing as an epidemic of the Orient, has now hit home.

The virus has finally made it's way to Switzerland.
