Where others come for vacation...
where others come for vacation ...

Yet another cloudy day, but there's hope.. I spot the Sun (Die Sonne) peeking through the clouds. This seems to be enough to set my faulpelz (lazybones) into motion and I do a bit of Yoga in the morning.. It's been a while and my body seems to be waking out of deep slumber. I can hear the joints clicking into position as i do some simple stretches.. I'm hoping my sore ankle (No idea how it happened.. Perhaps too much running during siestas!) feels better after Yoga -- But NO. My ankle has a mind of its own. Walking down the steps isn't an easy task today. Yet, stubbornly i refuse to take the elevators.

I decide to take the 8:16 AM bus today. A group of 20 school kids with big backpacks get on in the next village. They're all excited about their field trip. Their teacher tries to keep them calm. One li'l kid takes out his camera and starts taking pictures. Their excitement is infectious. I try to listen in on their conversations.. but they're speaking Swiss-german and I'm learning german in school. So their body language conveys more to me than the words. I can atleast tell the words apart (even if I don't understand the meaning).. so there's some hope!!tongue-out

The platform at the train station(bahnhof) is crowded again. I thought the later train would have lesser traffic, but since this is an inter-region express train, obviously everyone else has the same idea.. It's a much shorter ride today. I sit by myself & try to open my book to refresh yesterday's (Gestern) lesson, but eavesdropping on other people's conversation is more fun. I try to make it like a game. I need to decode some secretly coded conversations.. perhaps i should use my smartphone.. Naah.. will just try this old fashioned way..

I hurry to the class.. I will reach just in time, if i walk fast.. so no time to reflect on the swans or the panoramas.. no time to feel cold either.. cool

We rehearse some of yesterday's lessons and alphabet. The teacher (lehrerin) is having some problems with the audio today.. We ask her to restart the system. Since it's a windows system.. restart helps for the first time & then we're back to audio issues!! Well.. no audio lessons today.

During the break some of us gather at the cafeteria to converse in English.. The girl from USA (originally from Macedonia) feels that the class is too slow. It's an intensive course -- so we should be going at a faster pace!! She has lived in Atlantic city (NJ!) and Denver Colorado, so perhaps this is not exactly the fast lane she's been looking for! The girl from Canada can't fathom why the German isn't being translated into another language like English. It doesn't matter to her that half the students don't understand English! We find out that the Italian kid in the class is turning 16 on Thursday. Wow.. 16!! seems to be a lifetime ago. I sure wouldn't want to be 16 in these times.. We ask him if he's allowed to drink a Beer. Not here, but in Italy yes.. ;)

We end the class with Regular Verb endings.. oh yes.. good ol' verbs.. can't speak with or without them!! It's all ok with regular verbs. Wait till she starts with the irregular ones.. I should skip some classes soon.. perhaps if the weather gets better.. it just might be more fun outside.. Shhhh.... don't tell anyone!!!
