Today we're ready to make the "400 year old House" our Home. Our day starts very early, finishing the last minute packing. The Packers and Movers arrive promptly at 7:00 AM. Soon the dismantling, packing and loading is in full swing. There's intermittent rain in the forecast and I'm a little worried. The Movers' trucks cannot be driven to the House. The construction road to the House from the Parking is pretty steep, so we have made arrangements with the neighbour farmer to use his Agri-Transporter for the last leg of the journey. If it rains hard, it will not only make the road slippery, but will also soak the goods during the transport.. Anyways.. there's no other way out.
The cats are not having a good day, their comfort zones are being stripped away one after another. Lukas takes them to the laundry room, so they're at least out of the way of the movers.. and in a safe place.
Soon the last of the boxes have been loaded and we drive to Seelisberg, with the trucks behind us. It's raining on & off. Thank Goodness, it isn't snowing.. couldn't have possibly moved in with Snow on the ground. We're curious if the movers trucks will be able to negotiate the last turn and drive 200m to our parking lot. They're able to, largely due to the Movers attitude. They're all people from the East (Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan et al..). The Boss walks around the dirt track with his polished leather shoes without any problems. The Swiss movers/cleaners that have come to the site so far, have all made a big deal about it..
The Movers unload our stuff from their trucks on to the Farmer's Agri-Transporter, and he drives in Reverse up the slope to our House. The movers unload once again & carry it up the stone steps into the House. It sure is double the work for them, but amazingly absolutely no complaints from them. They're intact having a time of their life -- making selfie videos on the Agri-Transporter and Instagramming/Facebooking them
After the movers leave, we setup the cat-tree, unpack & arrange as much of the furniture as we can, before we head back to Beckenried to get the cats. Back at the apartment, the two cats are still huddled together in the laundry room. We collect their Litter-box, food, water & other last minute stuff and start our journey to Seelisberg. Lukas with the cats in their cat box (still crying.. not knowing what this change is all about) and me with all the other stuff. On the way back, I wonder how the cats will react to their new home.. will they accept it??
After setting their Litter-box and Food, water in it's place, it's time for the moment of Truth -- Lukas opens the cat box.. they come out very cautiously.. and are happy to see us. Nellie goes to her Hammock and lays there. She also starts to Purr when we pet her...it's like music to our ears. Skylar disappears somewhere.. perhaps hiding. It's a new place and will take them sometime to get used to it and make it their Home.
For now, for us.. We have made this "House on the Rocks" our HOME.. has taken 7 months and a lot of nerves...
We're HOME SWEET HOME!!!!
