Where others come for vacation...
where others come for vacation ...

It's Christmas morning and there's nothing that gets one in the mood for Christmas, than a walk on Engelweg through Tannwald in our idyllic mountain village. From November end to January end, the hiking trail through Tannwald (literally: Pine forest) turns into Engelweg (Angeltrail). 24 life-size angels accompany you on the 40-minute circular route to Marienhöhe. A poem alongside each of the angels invites you to think, smile or enjoy.

This Christmas, there's hardly any snow, so for me the magic is a bit subdued. Nevertheless, it's Christmas and i still believe in these magical beings - not just Angels, but Elves and Dwarfes and Gnomes -- the mystical inhabitants of the Forest.

Small benches to linger and a view of Lake Uri or the Seelisberg "Seeli" make the walk special and I arrive home all refreshed in body, mind and spirit and we enjoy Colourful Christmas Pasta for Lunch!
