Theater in the "rustic" atmosphere of a farm, combined with gastronomy, is a unique cultural offering enabling a meeting place between people from rural and urban areas.
Every year from May to September the troop of "hof-theater.ch" travels to over 30 farms in 16 cantons of German-speaking Switzerland. It transforms the stable, barn or hayloft into a Theater and offers its audience an entertaining, touching, stimulating and in any case unforgettable evening - whatever the weather.
"Seppi and Madlen Truttmann" are the hosts at the event in Seelisberg. They put their heart and soul into creating a cozy atmosphere and take care of the guests' physical well-being with food and drinks from their own Agro-production.
This year's offering "Wo die Hirschlein seufzen" (Where the Deers Sigh...) is a satirical, spicy musical comedy on the subject of love for the homeland.
After the death of her husband, the dairymaid Meta runs an alp together with the maid Resi. In addition to hard work, the two women indulge in singing beautiful homeland songs, reading homeland novels and observing local game. But the idyll is suddenly clouded when one morning the king of the mountains "Hirsch Adelbert" lies dead. Shot! Who is the Culprit?
Clarifying this is the task of the staunch gamekeeper Xaver, who rushes to the aid of the grieving women. With one trained eye - (the other directed at Resi) - he goes in search of the perpetrator. The trail leads him on a stony path to the Dirrmoser triplets who live in the forest. But which of the three is it? Was it Franz, Bruno, or Titus?
Thanks to a ruse by the two dairymaids, the culprit can be finally arrested. So everything ends, like in a good homeland novel, with a sighing happy ending.
