Mt. Stanserhorn is a local favourite and I'm looking forward to the views as we line up at the CABRIO Base Station. Our Stanserhorn experience begins at the nostalgic lower terminus, as we ride the original wooden carriage of the 125-year-old Funicular, past lush meadows and traditional wooden houses to the Kälti middle station. Once there, we bid a hasty goodbye to the nostalgia as we step into the ultra modern Topless (Cabrio) Gondola. The open-air top deck provides a 360-degree view of the mountains and valleys on the ride up.
We make a short hike to the very top of Stanserhorn (1898 m a.s.l.) with astonishing vistas to the Bernese Alps and its neighbour Mount Pilatus. Above us views of higher mountains, below us green valleys with cows, goats and sheep grazing in the meadows, their bells tinkling like wind chimes. Peaceful indeed!
Mt. Stanserhorn is also known as a Place of Power with heightened natural energy measuring 22,000 on the Bovis scale. Perhaps it's not my day, but i don't really feel anything special. I feel more energy and power at our home and in the surrounding woods. Or perhaps it's due to the high number of tourists here -- which slowly takes away not only the energetic field but also the Peace..
