Where others come for vacation...

b_200_0_7829367_0_0_images_2018_09_IMG_6742.jpgI wake up with thoughts of our Christmas Tree on my mind. It's a sunny day, so I say to myself "Why not, pay it a visit?"

Soon i find myself on the Gondola ride from Emmetten to Stockhütte (1279 m.a.s.l).

A 20 min uphill hike brings me to our enchanted Tree. It's such a miracle that these decorations are still hanging after almost 7 years. I sit down under the tree and reminisce my first visit here. I'd brought all these decorations with me from US. Lukas and I had searched through the forest and adopted this little tree as our Christmas Tree.

It's grown a bit taller now and the decorations are out of my reach. After a few serene moments under the Tree, I bow to the Tree and continue on.

It's getting hotter as i hike higher up. The bench at Twäregg (1498 m.a.s.l) provides a much needed break, a Selfie Smile and a drink. According to the Signpost on Tannibüel, Brisenhaus SAC (1753 m.a.s.l) is about an hours hike away. All this hiking in the Sun is making me hungry. As i reach the last curve uphill, I can finally spot Brisenhaus - a sight for sore eyes. It breathes in new life into my tired legs.

After a satiating lunch of Rösti and a small siesta, I'm happy to be on the trail again. From the signpost, i pick the closest station and hike down to Klewenalp Cable-Car Station (1593 m.a.s.l). A short 10 minute ride brings me down to Beckenried where the refreshing waters of Lake Lucerne are beckoning me for a swim!!!
